Party Planning Tips
If you are anything like me I love to host a good party. Whether it be a Holiday Dinner, Potluck style event, Birthday or a BBQ, I want to share some of my tips and great products to help you host your next event with ease. Let’s start with the checklist shall we?
I always start with a list. I am the queen of lists, let’s face it we all have so much going on making it easy to forget or miss opportunities. So by keeping a check list it helps me to to operate more smoothly and efficient. Not only that, but I’m prone to getting scatterbrained so the list keeps me in check. I always consider other people’s schedule and the number of people I can host.
When making your own list think about if you plan to have the food catered or if you are making it yourself? If you are catering be sure to contact your vendors early and if making the food yourself you need to plan out the timing of your dishes. I prefer to work by a certain order of operation. Now to my favorite part, the décor. Planning to do a theme? I love visiting Pinterest to get my creative juices flowing. When putting together the guest list, write out who you plan to invite and get all of their contact info. You can either send them an email invite with a message to RSVP. Or keep it classic and mail the invitations. We offer a nice selection of invitations right here at All Season Gift Shop. It really boils down to how much you are willing to spend on your guest. I am not shy when it comes to picking up decorative items from the Dollar Tree either. Don’t forget about the entertainment, I mean you can’t expect to host and be the jester too. Games are in order! Depending on the weather, you can set up outdoor games but I personally like to place various board games randomly around the entertainment area of the home where they can be easily spotted . If not doing a Wii Tournament, I’ll place playing cards, Scrabble and other board games around. People will find them and help themselves which in turn saves you from pushing any games on the guest.
